We’ve had better starts to weekends while away travelling. Much better. There was the time when we woke up to the most glorious sunrise in Durmitor National Park.
Then there was the Saturday morning we spent skiing in the Italian Dolomites. Not forgetting the day we enjoyed serenely flying in a hot air balloon above fabulous Cappadocia in Turkey.
All those wonderful memories only served to add to the starkness of being stuck in Customs on the Greek island of Chios, with our motorhome impounded, and not much hope of rectifying the problem any time soon.

The problem was that the physical insurance documents we carry for the motorhome had expired, and we didn’t have a copy of the new in-date ones. Oversights on our part.
Factor in that it was a Saturday and, with the time difference, still only 6.30am in the UK, where the only person who could potentially help us would be sound asleep, and it wasn’t looking too good.
