I often tell people who say white wine is too cold for autumn and winter that they've probably overchilled their wine.
Serve it at the right temperature and you'll get maximum enjoyment from the aromas and flavours, which will be shut down when it's served too cold.
This does depend on the varietal, but lighter whites can usually be poured
