A mazon’s Fire TV Omni QLED range has been a breath of fresh air in the cheap TV category. The 65in model impressed us with the balance and consistency of its picture performance, the clarity of its sound and the completeness of its Fire OS operating system. The 50in model is better still, boasting all of the qualities of the larger model with an extra degree of smoothing to its few rough edges.

So, is this baby of the bunch the budget 43in TV we’ve been waiting for? The 43in Omni QLED launched at £550, but you should most certainly not pay that much for it, since Amazon puts its Omni QLED range on sale regularly. At the time of going to press, it is available for
