Although many of us played with Lego when we were children, the Danish company has diversified dramatically in recent years and now sells a vast range of sets aimed at adult collectors. One of the major themes is the ‘Ideas’ line, which takes fans’ designs and turns them into retail products. The latest is targeted at family historians: a literal family tree.

Anyone who has ever played with Lego before will feel comfortable as soon as they open the box. The pieces are in numbered bags that correspond to sections in the instructions, and the advice is mostly easy
