Green hydrogen could fuel container ships

Several major Power-to-X plants are emerging in Europe that convert water into hydrogen that can be used to produce climate-friendly fuel.

→ The shipping industry that carries our goods around the world is responsible for 2-3% of the planet’s CO emissions, largely because today’s ships and planes are powered primarily by fossil fuels. Power-to-X technology (see #102 p70) hopes to O) are split into hydrogen and oxygen.
