Whistleblower claims company cut corners on safety
AMERICA’S Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is investigating claims made by Boeing engineer Sam Salehpour that its 787 Dreamliner planes have structural failings that could eventually cause them to break apart – adding to the unprecedented crisis facing the aviation giant.
Salehpour, who has worked at the company for more than four decades, approached the FAA after he was “threatened with termination” for raising concerns with bosses.
“These problems are the direct result of Boeing’s decision in recent years to prioritise profits over safety,” his lawyers, Debra Katz and Lisa Banks, said
