    Political row rumbles on over police handling of pro-Palestine protests

    Britain’s most senior police officer is facing a renewed political row over his force’s handling of protests after an antisemitism campaigner was threatened with arrest at a pro-Palestine demonstration.

    Sir Mark Rowley faced calls to resign both from the campaigner himself – Gideon Falter, chief executive of the Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA) – and former home secretary Suella Braverman, who has made no secret of her critical views of how the Metropolitan Police has dealt with protests.

    He is due to meet of London on Monday to discuss “community relations”, and is expected to meet Home Secretary in the coming days.
