London properties add £9,000 to asking priced as more family homes come onto the market

The average asking price for a London house is now £696,120, according to Rightmove.

House prices are up 1.4 per cent or £9,272 in April, and 2.8 per cent compared to this time last year, according to the property portal.

A key factor behind the growth towards near-record average prices according to the website is “top of the ladder” properties, with a jump in new sellers and sales agreed for bigger, family-sized homes.
