Holding my breath, I pressed myself against the floral wallpaper as I shuffled along the landing.

Wished my blue and white Care Bear pyjamas would make me invisible.

Nearly there, I thought, slowly edging past Dad's bedroom door.

It was a cold morning in 1993, I was 6, and noiselessly heading to the kitchen for breakfast before school.
