Calls for State apology for Stardust families after unlawful killing verdicts

There have been calls for a State apology to be given to the Stardust families after unlawful killing verdicts were reached following a year-long inquest.

The jury reached a majority verdict of unlawful killing in the case of the 48 people who died in a fire that ripped through a north Dublin nightclub more than 40 years ago.

Families who have fought for justice for their loved ones embraced one another and cried after the verdict was read out in the Pillar Room in Dublin city.
