PBY CATALINA

When Tony Dilluvio sent in a few photos of his 13.2-footspan, electric-powered PBY Catalina for “Pilot Projects,” we immediately knew it was something special. Lucky for us, Tony took dozens of photos while building from Sturla Snorrason’s plans! Inspired by the Catalinas his father flew in the Navy in the 1930s, Tony painted his 1/6-scale model using documentation of the Catalina Society/Plane Sailing’s PBY-5A, “Miss Pickup.” We caught up with Tony to get more details on his unusual build.
