1985 Daimler 4.2

Regular readers will know that I’m on the lookout for a more modern XJ than my fleet of X300s, something I can use daily that is more economical on long runs – in short, a nice X350 XJ6. So I’d like to introduce my new purchase, a Daimler 4.2 SIII.

Now before you shout “You’ve done it wrong”, I’ve been looking casually for a SIII since 2022, and putting thethis car advertised 40 miles away, I went to look. I’d previously tried to buy it in 2022 but was met with a wall of silence from the seller. It’s got a better MoT history than last month’s 3,500 mile cover star and has never had an advisory for rot. And it’s just had the head gasket done.
