Some people say that you are so much busier when you retire than you ever were when you were working. Well, I’m not so sure about that as I'm working hard and I often don’t have enough hours in the day, but I guess they just mean that you are much busier doing the things you want to do rather than the things you need to do.
I saw this scenario playing out in real life when I popped in to see Raymond Denvir and his A35 van. The van was there, sitting in the morning sunshine waiting for my arrival, but Ray wasn’t anywhere to be seen. The only sign of life was a clattering and banging and the occasional buzz of a power tool coming from the depths of a large garage. This is where I found the man himself, knocking together some wooden benches he was making for a local charity.
Raymond is retired from the commercial building trade, and looking at the contents of his garage workshop, I’m convinced that he has more than enough to keepRover. However, they weren’t the reason for my visit. The humble little green A35 was what I had come to see, and Ray was about to down tools and let me get a closer look.
