Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula busted for corruption
FORMER national assembly speaker Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula’s legal troubles are proving to be another headache for the ANC. She recently appeared in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on 12 charges of corruption and one charge of money laundering after state prosecutors claimed she received millions in bribes while she was defence minister.
The 67-year-old ANC veteran, who is out on bail, served as defence minister from 2014 to 2021 before becoming the speaker of parliament that same year.
