Scanstrut SC-Multi-F1 socket

The increasing popularity of USB-C for charging electronic devices, including laptops, makes this ideal for use on board as there’s no need to use an inverter or DC-DC voltage converter. This reduces the amount of equipment that’s needed on board and means there’s less to go wrong.

Scanstrut now has a variety of devices for this purpose – I tried the SC-Multi-F1 which combines two high output USB-C sockets with a standard cigarette-style 12V socket. It’s a very neat and flexible combination that’s waterproof to IPX4 (water splashes from any direction) with the cover closed, though unlike some Scanstrut products is not suitable
