While I was never sold on it being a portable SNES (despite its 32-bit power) it was a significant upgrade over Nintendo’s Game and felt incredibly impressive on the handheld, while offerings like and (both by Treasure) highlighted just how much grunt the GBA actually had. Hell, some ambitious developers even created 3D games with various degrees of success. With that in mind, it has been delightful learning about the many tricks and techniques talented developers used to get the best out of what would be the last console to carry the Game Boy name.
