We all have favourites. I know I do when it comes to golf holes. They are not necessarily the best par-3s, par-4s and par-5s — although I would argue that they are right up there.

But what follows over the next few pages are the holes that have always struck a positive chord with me, which is why they are my favourites.

Royal Troon GC
