KZN at risk of electoral violence: analysts

VOLATILE PROVINCE

ANALYSTS have warned that KwaZulu- Natal could become “fatal ground” ahead of the May 29 elections, especially if those who incite violence are not swiftly brought to book.

Zakhele Ndlovu, a political analyst, said violence associated with politics was a concerning factor ahead of the polls, particularly in KZN.

“There are a number of cases which point to incitement of violence ahead of the elections.

“Law enforcement agencies should deal with the culprits and send a strong message to those who think like them, by effecting arrests and convicting them.
