Old wooden windows display the craftsmanship of their makers and are valuable for the aesthetics of a house.

Vibrancy is added by the ripples, bubbles and other imperfections within the original glass that cause it to sparkle in sunlight, bringing the windows alive.

Equally important is the timber. Unlike modern fast-grown softwood, the slow-grown softwood of the past is exceptionally durable and acts almost like a hardwood in its resistance to rot – this is why so many old windows have lasted for hundreds of years.
