London mayoral election 2024: which candidate should you vote for?

Source: ES

Circle May 2 on your calendars. The London mayoral election is just one day away.

Thirteen candidates are standing, with current Mayor Sadiq Khan on track for “a broadly comfortable victory” with 42 per cent of the vote according to the final poll, though that gap has narrowed, with Tory candidate Susan Hall now on 32 per cent.

Chris Hopkins, political research director at the Savanta survey for the Centre for London, which conducted the poll, said: “While we still predict a broadly comfortable victory for Khan over Hall, our research has consistently suggested that the current Mayor has serious challenges as a candidate.

“Londoners seem divided on his time in office so far - and a different, more popular opponent could have made a difference.”
