Finding a way

FREIGHT WORKINGS

FISHBONE Solutions’ Rail Logistics Team may not be a name familiar to many RM readers, perhaps because it has only been in business for five years. But the firm has recently won the Rail Freight Group’s 2023 ‘Project of the Year’ award after finding a way to deliver millions of tons of stone aggregate to HS2 worksites by rail instead of by road.

The team is headed up by Ed Johnson, Mick Tinsley and Paul Clews, who between them have around a century of rail experience at all levels. Mr Johnson, an aircraft engineer, brought his engineering and innovation skills to rail at the turn of the century and was head of production for the EWS fleet.
