01 REGIMENT BLADES
AUTO LOCK FOLDER
MSRP: $110

When it comes to knife fighting, it’s hard to beat Filipino and Indonesian martial arts. The problem? It takes years to become proficient in those systems. Most military and law enforcement members don’t have that kind of time. That’s why Regiment Blades crafted the Auto Lock Folder. With a roughly 110-degree design and a retention ring that looks like a trigger guard, this blade can be drawn like a pistol and used like you’re throwing a punch. This allows a cop, soldier, or concealed-carry owner to use it instantly without years of training. Of course, this design limits certain angles and slicing techniques. But if simple self defense is your priority and training time is limited, the Auto Lock Folder might be your ideal backup tool.

There’s a good chance that,, you also fell in love with the Ruger Mini-14, which was regularly used by the eponymous squad of former Green Berets-turned mercenaries. If you’re feeling some vintage vibes, there are now ways to modernize this classic AR-15 alternative. Take, for example, Samson’s B.A. Sling Point. Presumably named after Mr. T’s character, B.A. Baracus, it upgrades the stock gas block cap for the Mini-14 (and the Mini Thirty) and comes with an integrated loop to attach a sling. The steel accessory clocks in at just 1.3 ounces, is offered in a stainless or black oxide finish, and works with factory and aftermarket stocks and heat shields.
