JUDGING

What is your past experience of judging shows in the UK?

I began my judging journey in 2013, becoming a CCBA foundation judge. I then spent time shadowing CCBA full panel judges like Alan Mason, Simon Meredith and Geoff Walker. I judged at CBS shows across the country, including Gainsborough, Ilkeston & Erewash and Nuneaton, where Mick Burke took me for further training.

In 2015 I became an intermediate CCBA judge, which continued my learning curve and ensured I was active at shows. I judged the Home Counties young stock show. In 2018, I took my CCBA full panel test at the All-Colour Show (ACS), which I passed. Since becoming a UK CCBA full panel judge, I have officiated at various zone shows: Northern Ireland, West Midlands, the National and the ACS.

Turning Negative Around
EVERYBODY would agree that when keeping, breeding and showing birds, things do not always go as we plan or intend them to go. Quite often, poor starts or bad breeding results can be made up for later in the breeding cycle, or adjustments can be made
