THE PARK IS coming to life now, with many of our visitors taken back in awe at the lovely floral displays that our gardens team put on every year. This spring is definitely no exception and with the weather (hopefully) drying up, this should make for a very busy Easter holiday.
Our birds) eggs from our pair in the walled garden. This Australian species is normally pretty good at laying at the same time each year and this year laid their first egg one day earlier than their first egg last year. They incubate the clutch alternately for between 28 and 32 days and are ferociously protective over their eggs and chicks. Our second pair of masked lapwings have been mating and have just started to gather small pieces of bark and tiny stones, so it won’t be long before they are also laying.
