Attention to detail should be at the core of any good tractor restoration and, arguably, the components that deserve the lion’s share of your care are those with which you are in frequent contact. Components that you use all the time, or handle routinely, need to be right to avoid constant irritation.

A broken or lop-sided seat that’s uncomfortable or regularly snags your trousers can be both annoying and painful, while a tractormeter or engine temperature gauge that’s partially obscured by broken or discoloured glass can turn into a continual nuisance. Likewise, a steering wheel rim that’s either worn thin or become misshapen can be difficult and unpleasant to grip, or actually dangerous to use.
