The German-Serbian-French co-production would doubtless prove an exasperating, brain-fogging experience for any hapless soul stumbling in “blind”. The more you know of Schanelec’s oeuvre, her influences, and the source-material she’s updating and idiosyncratically revising here – Sophocles’ 2450-year-old tragedy ‘Oedipus Rex’ – the more you’ll get out of this. Exponentially so, in fact.
