Lathyrus vernus ‘Alboroseus’
o many of us grow. This spring-flowering herbaceous version produces a clump of delicately ferny foliage, which in April and May is topped with pea-like flowers. Those flowers are purple-blue in the species, but this cultivar, ‘Alboroseus’, is a soft shade of rose-pink. Reaching about 50cm high and 40cm wide, it’s best placed at the front of a bed and needs a sunny spot to thrive. Try it with tulips, honesty or a haze of forget-me-nots.
