Brilliant Bessis
This week’s apparently hopeless Four Spades was given a chance when the Icelandic West led a Heart (anyone for a passive Trump?). Declarer, Michel Bessis of France, played low from dummy and East, unwisely as events were to show, also played low. Declarer won the nine, crossed to the Queen of Trumps, then made the fine play of a low Heart away from dummy’s King.
