THE SENSES

WHAT YOUR BABY CAN SEE

■ Your baby's sight develops gradually, and although he can see at birth, it's a little fuzzy. ■ At birth, he can only see objects that are about 20cm to 30.5cm away, like your face when you're holding him. ■ He's not sure how to use his eyes ■ Your baby may enjoy seeing bright colours or high-contrast items such as black and white pictures and toys. ■ By around four to six weeks he'll have learnt to focus and track you as you move around.
