WHY DON'T I GET MY PERIOD WHILE BREASTFEEDING?

There's a delicate balance of hormones within your body that influences your fertility, menstrual cycle, pregnancy and breastfeeding. If you exclusively breastfeed your baby after birth, the hormones responsible for milk production and the flow of milk from your breasts can cause a delay in your fertility, and hold off your period longer.

CAN I SPOT WHILE BREASTFEEDING?

The bleeding that happens after birth is the healing of the lining of the uterus and may seem like a period, but it's not. This bleeding, known as lochia, may happen for up to six weeks after birth.
