EWEN MACINTOSH

e was loved by fans for his role as Keith, the oddball accountant who sported a distinctive goatee and had a love for Scotch eggs. But after the show finished in 2003, Ewen struggled to land big roles and was even snubbed when he applied for a part in an advert that had specifically requested a ‘Keith from ’ character in, , and , as well as appearing on celebrity versions of and . Sadly, that wasn’t enough to make a decent living and in 2016 the actor was declared bankrupt, owing the taxman thousands. In 2022, Ewen told fans that he’d been admitted to hospital but didn’t reveal what was wrong with him, and two years later, on 19 February, it was announced that he’d passed away aged 50. ‘With great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved comedy genius Ewen MacIntosh. His family thank all who supported him, especially Willow Green Care Home,’ his management team shared.
