Pc Sharon Beshenivsky murder accused ‘did not know guns were used in robbery’

A man accused of planning an armed robbery at a travel agents that ended in a police officer being shot dead has told a court he did not know guns were going to be used in the raid.

Piran Ditta Khan said it was “the worst news” when he found out Pc Sharon Beshenivsky had been killed as she interrupted the robbery at Universal Express in Bradford, West Yorkshire, in November 2005.
