Harbour shake-up

Plans for modernising and increasing the efficiency of Penzance Harbour include a new 44m visiting boat pontoon.

The project has £3million from the Government’s Town Deal Fund, which needs to be spent by March 2026. Visiting sailors and residents will benefit from accessible shower and toilet facilities, a laundrette area, plus a new harbour office and marine engineering facilities on the harbour’s North Arm, with the Rank building refurbished to house this. There will also be a new boat lift crane, eco-friendly marine wash bay, safer walking and cycling routes, and improved access for road users.
