I've been thinking a lot lately about what it would be like to be Jett Lawrence, portrayed as the new wonder boy in American Supercross/motocross. Looking at everything he has achieved in a short amount of time is mind-blowing, and I wonder what goes on inside his head with regards to dealing with all this success at such a young age.
From the outside looking in, he appears to be dealing with it With all this success though, and talk about wanting to challenge Jeremy McGrath's all-time win record of 72 wins, there's the dark side of the sport that comes with it, which is all the negative comments on social media and the fans of the sport that like to rip him apart. I assume he doesn't even read these comments, but it appears the more success he has, there are fans who either totally love him or those who dislike the fact he's beating the American riders. And no matter how many records he breaks, they always find ways of justifying to themselves that he's lucking into his success.
