British author Bobby Palmer’s Isaac And The Egg was one of our favourite reads last year. And in his follow-up, Small Hours, he adopts the same magical elements to an otherwise simple story about a father and a son struggling to mend their fractured relationship.

Here, Bobby chats with us about the process behind writing his second novel, how his life has changed since the fanfare of his debut and why he never thought he’d become a novelist.
