The return of the power lunch: From new openings to the old guard, here's where to eat
There’s something to be said about a power lunch. It’s a time of suited business sorts vigorously shaking each other's hands over too much red meat and red wine. A space for deals to be done outside the boardroom, the golf course, or god forbid, the Zoom meeting.
These in-person meet-ups are marked by negotiation, deduction, seduction and, historically at least, quite a lot of testosterone. Patrick Bateman snagging a corner table at Dorsia, Jordan Belfort thumping his chest. Power lunching is what happens when big business maximalism collides with the best restaurants around.
That said, for those of us without banks to crumble to politics to fumble, the power lunch can mean something else — a chance to dress up, go big with the order, and gossip till its time to roll straight into supper.
