The new edition of this Master Keyboard is now simply called the Kontrol S49 or S61; the Komplete has been dropped. Nevertheless, it is still intended for controlling instruments that are loaded into the in-house Komplete Kontrol software. These are mainly synthesizers, samplers, libraries and effects from the Komplete bundle from NI. However, plug-ins from other providers can also be integrated into Komplete Kontrol and played with the keyboard.
No Maschine
The optimization to Komplete Kontrol has led to the discontinuation of support for the Maschine software from their own company. The predecessor model has a series of buttons specifically for controlling the Maschine software, and the display and keyboard with Light Guide can also be used to operate Maschine. Together with the Maschine pad controller, this is a powerful combination. According to NI, this feature was omitted from the MK3 version because it was only used by a few owners of the old model. However, we cannot confirm this; at least in our environment, many have used this function and users have also expressed their displeasure about this decision
