Budget measures for small businesses ‘too little too late’ for SMEs

Small firms and business groups have welcomed moves to boost growth and ease the tax burden in the spring Budget, but cautioned measures did not go far enough and were “too little too late”.
Billed by the Treasury as the “year of the SME”, Chancellor Jeremy Hunt announced plans to support small firms by increasing the VAT registration threshold from £85,000 to £90,000 this April to “cut their taxes and help them grow”.
