BUYER'S GUIDE Head FIRST

YOUR HORSE'S GEAR BUYER'S GUIDE | RIDING HATS

HANDLING AND RIDING horses can be a risky business and a riding hat is an essential piece of safety equipment — no matter how well behaved the horse is and whatever the rider's level or discipline.

Horses are unpredictable and equestrians need to take all the precautions they can to protect their head. Head injuries present a serious risk, and they can be life-changing, so when it comes to hat wearing there should be no compromise on safety. It is imperative that all riders wear an approved form of protective headwear when around horses.

Hat manufacturers are constantly on the lookout for ways to improve the protection that hats offer, utilising technology to bring riders a choice of lightweight, comfortable and smart looking helmets for all disciplines. Manufacturers must also produce hats that meet the various current safety standards.
