t was like a bright light from which I couldn't turn away, painful but irresistible. Like most of the world, it seems, I sub and its passengers until the public acknowledgment that it had imploded. For years before that, I had watched the rise of the personal submarine industry. Unable to dive, I loved the idea to glimpse at the life teeming beneath the waves from behind a clear, protective bubble, and I wasn't alone. A personal sub became the ultimate yacht accessory. Has it changed? This month, we look at the industry post – (page 100). Stricter regulations will follow this tragedy, but none of that will quench the human thirst for adventure. Speaking of which, be sure to check out on page 58. Her owner commissioned this 153ft, sub-500GT adventure yacht to go anywhere and anytime. I visited her at the Dunya shipyard last year and loved the spaces and beautiful finish, from the paint to the original interior. It's clear a lot of pride went into her development and construction.
