    Illicit cigarette trade growing in Chatsworth, Phoenix

    THE ILLICIT cigarette and alcohol trade is a growing industry in Phoenix and Chatsworth. Crime activists believe the hike in sin taxes will drive more consumers to this market.

    Last week Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana announced that the price of alcohol will increase between 6.7% and 7.2%.

    This means a can of 340ml beer and a 340ml can of cider will go up by 14c. A 750ml
