University College London research suggests Britain’s behind other countries on cancer survival amid campaigners’ claims “systemic ageism” means older patients may not receive lifesaving treatment.
According to the study, published in The Lancet Oncology, deployment of chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments is considerably lower than comparable countries, notably for older patients.
