WE’D both be driving in South Africa, and there was a bit of preliminary organising to do about that. Both Sue and I had the old paper UK driving licences, which we needed to change to the newer photo version. This was done online on the WWW.gov.uk website, using the passport photo stored by the Passport Office, and it cost less than £20 each. The new licences arrived within a week. In addition to this, we had to purchase an international driving permit from our local Post Office. I already had some passport photos, which you need, so the permits were completed there and then.
