As the United States draws closer to is semiquincentennial (250-year anniversary of the Declaration of Independence) in 2026, interest is growing in the time when the country was formed. There will undoubtedly be massive celebrations marking this historic milestone. The US government has formed a commission (America 250) to study how the nation can commemorate its founding and be inclusive telling the story.
