With some of her earliest – and favourite – food memories coming from her childhood, chef Gabriella Margiotta puts her own spin on these recipes, ensuring, like her parents and their parents before, that nothing is wasted.

It was during lockdown that Gabriella, who now heads the family-run, award-winning Cucina Di Vincenzo restaurant in Liverpool, shared her passion for food on social media and she’s never looked back. She shares her recipes with her thousands of followers on her Instagram channel @Gabriellas_Kitchen.

After being a semi-finalist in BBC’s MasterChef: The Professionals in 2022, when she was still a sous-chef, Gabriella has now teamed up with Italian tomato brand Mutti to create some authentic dishes.

Her own favourite tomato recipe? “My mum’s sugo! It’s a classic tomato sauce. Good olive oil, garlic, tomatoes and basil. You’ll never open my fridge and not find a tub of sugo. This sauce can do anything:
