Cruise control

At long last I am proud, nervous, and excited to show the product of over a year’s work of pain, pleasure, frustration, joy, heartache, (and yes) empty pockets, communication, planning, IT information for so many parts and yes, even YouTube!

I have had more than a year on a learning curve to become more skilled and knowledgeable; trying new skills and self-teaching myself things I have never approached before and to gain experience that will benefit other builds and projects. Well, I may have a rest for this summer, first.

September 2022 was when the journey started after seeing the second Top Gun movie and Tom Cruise pulled the cover off his Kawasaki GPZ900R. I didn’t know quite what I was taking on or the challenges I would be faced with.

I paidroom for budget, so after getting the beast home I started to take things off the bike: the complete challenge was all there before me to take on board. Where was I going to start? Could I do most or all of the work myself. One item that I had not factored into my plan was the availability of new parts, how to gather them and how much they cost!
