But there’s far more to the Grammy-winning band and its founder, Douglas “Ranger Doug” Green. The Chicago-born musician, arranger, songwriter, singer and yodeler holds a master’s degree in literature from Vanderbilt University and is the author of two music histories, (1976) and (2002). Green recently spoke with from his home in Brentwood, a suburb of Nashville, Tenn.
