Instructions given for woman's shoe size 5-7 and 8/9, and man's shoe size 10/11.

MATERIALS

•Plymouth Yarns Galway Worsted* medium (worsted) weight wool yarn (3½ oz/210 yds/100g per ball):
2 [2, 3] balls #711 pale brown heather
1 [1, 2] ball(s) #752 pebble beach heather
•Size I/9/5.5mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge
•Tapestry needle
•Nonstick rubber matting if desired to be sewn on after washing

*Note: For felting to workyou must use a wool yam.

GAUGE

Before felting: 13 dc = 4 inches; 7 rows = 4 inches

PATTERN NOTES

The instructions are set out individually for each of the 3 sizes for the sole and upper which are worked separately, and then the leg of the boot is worked onto the foundation chains of the uppers. For an extra-thick sole, make 4 soles (2 for each foot) and sew them together before attaching the upper.

Weave in ends as work progresses.

Chain-3 at beginning of row counts as first double crochet unless otherwise stated.

Single crochet, chain-1 at beginning of a decrease row counts as first double crochet unless otherwise stated.
