TNA Hard To Kill: The REAL Winners & Losers

RICH SWANN VS STEVE MACLIN

THE NEW ERA of TNA Wrestling opened with a clash between two former World champions who rose to the top of the promotion under the IMPACT Wrestling banner. Though both men could have viewed their spot on the pre-show as a demotion of sorts, neither one wrestled as if that were the case. Instead, each seemed determined to set the tone for the night to come. Following a back-and-forth tussle, it was Maclin who eventually picked up the win after avoiding a Phoenix Splash from Swann and then hitting his opponent with the K.I.A.

THE WINNER: Steve Maclin by pinfall in 10:22

THE REAL WINNER: Steve Maclin. Having fallen down the pecking order after losing the World title last year, Maclin started off 2024 with his best foot forward as he aims to return to form.

THE REAL LOSER: Rich Swann. This could have been the match that re-established Swann as a main event-worthy player. But instead, the former World champ seems to be slipping further down the ranks.

THE WINNERS: Eddie Edwards & Brian Myers by pinfall in 8:06

THE REAL WINNER: Alisha Edwards. While rarely a frontrunner in the Knockouts division, Edwards has proven invaluable to her husband’s career. Now, she finds herself as a key player in what could become TNA’s top faction.
