When I first met Steve Watts, he had a collection of “random” tractors. Although this eclectic collection was extremely interesting and full of variety, Steve has since changed his tactics and now focuses on collecting Ferguson and early Massey Ferguson tractors.
Sometimes it is good to give boundaries to one’s collecting habits. Collecting can get out of hand all too easily, so sticking to one or two makes, especially if those makes are linked, can really help focus a collection, and can give the collector a sense of purpose and direction.
Over the moon
Today, we are looking at two of the tractors that make up Steve’s early Massey Ferguson collection - two tractors which are helping to complete the collection - and which Steve was over the moon at being able to add to the stable. “I’ve had this vision of capturing all the red and grey range,” explains Steve, “so these two tractors have been really exciting additions.”
